So I have been addicted to watching book YouTube video's at night when I am nursing my son to sleep. Shelf tours, book reviews, unboxings, and so forth. Sarah Churchill has a channel that I really enjoy and several of her video's mentioned how she really loved a book named Forbidden. I decided to give it a try and bought the e-book version of it.
I did end up enjoying the book. It was written in a beautiful way, however, I expected more from it. I have loved books that make me cry since I was a little girl and read Lurlene McDaniel books. I need books that tug my heart strings and can really get me going. Unfortunately, while there were some honest, raw and emotional moments that were heartbreaking, I just did not cry the way I expected to.
Tabitha wrote a book that is emotionally charged and touches on topics that might make some people uncomfortable but she did it in a tasteful manner. I didn't find the topic of incest to be forced on the readers in an ugly way or that is too in your face.
The characters were lovable and annoying and funny and sweet and everything you could want from characters. They felt real and 3-D. They weren't bland at all.
I didn't give this book a 5 star rating because I didn't like, it. I truly did, I just lowered the rating because I expected to cry and didn't.
I would recommend this book to others though and would love to hear other opinions on it.
